This is especially true if you are hiring technical support staff members. These team members will be on the front line of your business, solving problems for both you and your potential customers or clients.
You’ll want to start by asking the potential team member about their relevant education as technical support is an ever changing field. What solved tech problems yesterday is not the same today. Is this new to you? You will want to verify any education listed on the resume as well and not just accept what’s written as fact.
You will want to ask about relevant experience in the field. This means hands on tech support for other companies or clients. If a candidate has a vast array of experience, it will allow them to hit the ground running. This is key in the digital age, as you want to get a jump on your competitors right off the bat.
